Somatic Experiencing and Life Coaching

What is Somatic Experiencing and how does it work with life coaching?

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-centered modality that helps people process stress and traumatic events. It was developed by Dr. Peter Levine in the 1970s and is based on the idea that stress and trauma can effect our nervous system.

SE helps you notice and work through sensations in your body associated with stress and trauma, instead of just focusing on thoughts and emotions alone. The goal is to change the body's response to stress by helping you release and recover from patterns of fight, flight, freeze or fawn (people-pleasing). SE can help you become more resilient and transform patterns that impact your daily life.

As your Somatic Experiencing Practitioner / Life Coach, I’ll support you as you learn to work with and befriend your nervous system so you can create more space to achieve what you want from life.

My Somatic Experiencing training involves me being both a client and practitioner, so I’ve personally experienced the amazing benefits of this healing and life-changing modality. I incorporate Somatic work with all my clients - supporting you as you increase its capacity for all emotions and experiences; and open space for a more regulated nervous system. This helps you have more emotional and physical space to work toward your life goals, feeling more secure and confident in your choices, relationships, goals and life!
